The languages of English,Swahili,Kangba,Kikuyu, and Lou are components of Kenyan literature,in which English plays the vital role. Kenya’s English literature can be traced to the 1930s. During its maturity between the 1950s and 1960s,the topic is mostly related to Mau Mau movement of this period. Later in the flourishing period, more importance is attached to the social prob lems after being colonialized. In the late 1950s,Kenyan literature made its first appearance in China, followed by the stagnant phase. New translations came out until the early 1980s,mainly focusing on Ngugi Wa Thiongo’s works, which are widely commented upon. On the whole, there are problems such as deficiency and imbalance on the translation and introduction of Kenyan literature in China.
